Class focus:
Homework policy: Homework is assigned each day and must be completed and turned in on time. Failure to turn in homework on the day it is due will result in a grade of 0. I will only accept late homework if there are extenuating circumstances, and I will need to be contacted by a parent/guardian regarding those circumstances. You may see me during Power Hour to make up work for partial credit on the day the assignment is due.
Make Up Work Policy: assignments missed due to EXCUSED absences must be made up within one day of your return to school. You can also access assignments from this site if you are absent and wish to have the work done the day it's due. If you know you are going to be absent, you need to get your assignments BEFORE you are gone . This includes school functions and athletic events. If you are absent, all work that was due on the date of your absence is due on the day you return. This is not make-up work, as it should already have been completed.
Major Assignments: Projects, presentations and other major assignments are expected to be completed by their due dates. Late projects/presentations will lose one letter grade, and late projects/presentations not turned in within a week of the due date will not be accepted.
Electronics Policy: Unauthorized use of an electronic device (cell phone, mp3 player, headphones, etc.) will result in:
1st offense: confiscation of the device and return to student at the end of the school day
2nd offense: phone call home and teacher detention
3rd offense: office referral and electronic device brought to office.
*Failing to comply with a proper and authorized direction or instruction of a staff member is considered defiance of authority and this will result in a call to security to escort the student to Mr. Roberts' office where they will turn in his/her phone.
